Why Simple Gump?

Now I was asked my several people what made me pick Simple Gump over the other games to be the first one we tried to get kickstarted. It is a good question and one that is not really that simple to answer.

Lets start with costs, Simple Gump does not have that many components to the game we only need the following;

Tuck box

73 playing cards

1 rule leaflet (A4 front and back printing)

That is not a lot of components and we we want to make sure the game is low costing which allows for a low kickstarting goal. We have worked it out and we need £2500 to get the game kickstarted which is amazing! We think that is a goal that is reachable. I do not want to talk much about the goal and how we worked that out right now because that would take away from the sections we talk about kickstarting the game. Now Hi Lo uses less components that would only need;

Tuck box

52 playing cards

4 coin cards

1 rule leaflet (A4 front and back printing)

This uses less components so would cost less to be made and we could have a lower kickstarter goal but Hi Lo is more family orientated and right now Simple Gump is more relevant. Once again I do not want to go into to much detail why it is as I would like to do a section just on the game.

Plus with Simple Gump we can have campaign goals that will allow us to release the two expansion packs we have already designed for Simple Gump. This means that the kickstarter campaign will have more to offer people if we reach certain milestones which I believe makes the appeal to back us greater.

Feedback was important to us and all the people who have played our games have enjoyed them all but Simple Gump really made an impression with them. This lead us to believe that it was clearly the strongest candidate for kickstarter. Overall we think Simple Gump right now would be the best game for us to try and get kickstarted and if it works we can then look at getting the other games kickstarted.

I hope you have enjoyed reading why we picked the game and it might help you decide what game to start.
