Okay, we were pretty pleased with the first video rules we created and thought we did a good job..... Then we watched other video rules out there and realised ours were pathetic.
We filmed them using a GoPro which is a good camera but not the best and the sound quality was poor. The set up was all wrong and it just looked bad compared to what we had seen and this bummed us out.
We went back to the drawing board again and decided we needed to recreate all the video rules and the Kickstarter video.
We decided to set the scene and spent a full evening laying it all out and making sure it looked perfect for the video. I mean yes it could still have looked better but with what we had and the space we did an awesome job. Once the scene was set we had already discussed what we needed to say in each video and who was going to say what.
We had bought some microphones to clip on to our tops to pick up the sounds (they were amazing and cheap! https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lavalier-Microphone-Smartphone-Canon-Camera/dp/B00MPDYGBE/ref=asc_df_B00MPDYGBE/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=310171959482&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5979926496995634258&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006772&hvtargid=pla-297942445163&psc=1 < these but the dual set) and used a professional digital camera (DSLR Mirrorless) to film the scene.
We did take after take and in the end, got what we needed. Now I would recommend that you maybe create a script and write it down, we did not and we had to keep filming sections until we got it right. It would also mean when it comes to editing the files it will make your life easier! That is what you want of course.
Once we had filmed it all and were happy we took all the footage into Premiere Pro and edited it, now it is still not 100% perfect but it is 90x better then it was before. There is an issue with the lighting creating a strobe effect but we could not do anything about that and we tried! The sound is miles better and you can hear what we are saying.
